Tangible Memories
Spring 2015
photographs, wood, twine
24.5" x 18" x 20"

Memories can often be tied to a certain place. Sometimes a place can become so heavy with memory that when you look at it, all you see are images of the past. In this way, memories can become tangible. An empty room becomes filled with past selves; An empty house becomes filled with people. For this piece, I built a model of the house that I grew up in out of family photographs that were taken at that house. The photographs range from when I was a few months old to when I was fourteen, which is when we moved out.
