"Dissection Reflection"
Installation
Wood and Bark
2012

When viewing this piece, the audience is experiencing trees in a different way than they normally do. Bark is viewed in rings, a pattern usually found inside the tree rather than outside where bark is normally seen. Tree trunks are hung vertically, juxtaposing the normality in which trees which grow vertically from the earth. As a human race we take trees for granted. They are so vital to our existence and the majority of our society passes by them without a second glance. The trees in this exhibit don't allow you that chance. They invade the viewers space and force them to take notice.
