The Huntress is a jorogumo, a type of creature in Japanese folklore. When a spider turns 400 it gains the ability to shapeshift into a beautiful woman. She seeks men looking for love and lures them to her lair, where she charms them with the music of a biwa, a type of Japanese lute. When the men are put into a trance from the music, she devours them.
