It has become apparent to me that learning to ride a bicycle sets you up for failure and disappointment in the future. A bicycle’s very design advocates for the dependence of a relationship between one wheel and another. The ability to support yourself on a single wheel is a life skill that should be taught to children early on and the unicycle provides the frame and structure to develop physical, mental, and emotional autonomy and sustainability without the dependence of a relationship with another wheel, or person for that matter.
