steel, miniature lightbulbs, black cord, spraypaint, soldering wires
18” x 12” x 10”
Using a jar full of
miniature light bulbs I found at an antique shop, this piece explores light and shadows and how interesting shapes are created from the crevices and cracks that the light seeps through from. Each lightbulb is soldered together in a sequence on the back of their panel, but unfortunately due to the nature of the lightbulbs, I did not have the resources necessary to generate enough power to make them light up. Therefore, this piece is lit up from lights inside the structure that shine up through the holes between the bulbs.
