The Lost City

There many theories and beliefs regarding the legend of the lost city, Atlantis, but among all of those stories are tales of a crystal used by the civilization. These crystals are said to have gained unique energies from the earth and sun which helped them to have magical healing powers. Some legends even say that they contain the records of the lost city. Whether these legends are myth are truth, I designed this piece to capture what one of these crystals would look like if it was truly growing out of the ground from the bottom of the ocean where the lost city allegedly sank. All of these barnacles are casted in plastic made from a rubber molding of sculpted clay barnacles and are growing on this crystal that was lost so long ago.
